Your Computer, Operating System, Security, Maintenance and Internet Connection
You have an obligation to yourself and the home business for which you have invested; to research this topic on your own and find out which system works best for you. I really do hope you do your own research on this subject; because the more you learn, the better off you will be in the long run. I can only share with you from my experiences; and know what works for me. Here is what happened the other week:
My computer did crash like a rock; so I called Dell support, they were great!

Dell mailed free diagnostic software right here to the house. Their support team worked with me on the phone for over an hour; and we came to the conclusion that my hard drive was gone.
They offered to replace the hard drive and would have been more then happy to help me fix this problem; guiding me through this hardware replacement right here at the house on the phone.
Well, in all honesty my computer was about seven years old and had meet it's life expectancy; that is for the older models. My computer of choice is definitely Dell. My new one has the Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic Operating System; with the Dell PC TuneUp ActiveCare. You can never have enough security back up.

Getting a home computer can be a lot of fun!!! But, be assured that you have to do your system maintenance. There are preventative steps I take every week to insure proper computer care.
Once a week I run Windows update for important issues; this relates to the enhancement of my computer's security and maintenance.
Then, I run the systems tools for Disk Defragmentation and Disk Clean up. (This maybe overkill, but I'm really careful with my computer.)
For overall security I use Norton
I have always been a faithful user of Norton. For over six years, I have taken it upon myself to run a full comprehensive check on a weekly basis. My system runs with full confidence having the little green check mark over the Norton icon on my desktop. The price is well worth the quality of computer security protection that Norton gives you.
Norton is always on full alert and is constantly working for you with automatic updates and background security checks. I really like knowing when there is some type of intruder trying to get past my firewall, Norton alerts you immediately, informing you to spring into action. The online downloads and renewals are exceptionally easy to use.
When my system crashed, I was really glad that I had subscribed to their back up storage facility feature and was able to retrieve all my documents!! Norton also has a secure log in feature that allows you to store all your favorite websites and passwords that you frequently visit on the Internet!

I was running my computer with high speed DSL; therefore having problems with my location statistics here at VistaPrint. All my at home locations were bulked together in Manassas, which is not the location of my residence. By upgrading to Broadband High Speed Internet Service, I'm hopeing to resolve this issue.
Very pleasant phone representative and service technician. I was set with my new cable service within a week! Awesome!
We had a problem with my new installation. Another technician was here at the house within a reasonable amount of time to correct my installation issues; and I received a very nice credit on my bill!
This was only my first week with Comcast, I'm sure in time all those hits in Manassas should spread out to our advertising areas. By the second week, Manassas has totally disappeared from my location statistics! Not that I have anything against Manassas, but we don't advertise there on a regular basis.
For the price of only $30.00 a month! Comcast is the best!!!
I just turned off all the sharing and discovery functions with them. I still have my computer security working and internet connection, but I don't use those sharing options with anyone. I don't even know what they are used for.....I'm not sharing files or anything else with anyone on my computer.

Conclusion
In conclusion for my section of "Your Computer, Operating System, Security, Maintenance and Internet Connection."
The one most very important thing that I want you to pay attention to is this: your computer is your responsibility and many of these systems have automatic updates. I believe because I took it upon myself, once a week, to run these computer security programs manually, that is why I maintained my computer through it's life expectancy. I only update this computer with the important updates.
Another important note: if your computer should become virused.......don't run off to a computer repair shop right away. Use your system tools feature to restore your computer to an earlier date.
The Virtual Internet World – My Thoughts
I believe that the internet is not just for huge corporations. This should be a part, maybe even a reality, for the regular folks like us to earn some income potential on line.
